All your exercise activities can be synced to Strove using one or more of our integrations (Apple Health, Google Fit, Strava, Garmin and Fitbit). Please note that only exercise activities can be synced through Strava. Your activities will only start pulling through to Strove after establishing one or more of these connections.
Strove connects to fitness devices through intermediary apps rather than directly with hardware. This ensures compatibility with multiple devices by utilizing platforms like Apple Health and Google Fit.
Apple Health
Exercise activities, steps and mindful minutes can be synced from Apple Health to Strove by heading over to Settings from the profile icon on the bottom navigation bar > “Connected Apps” > and switching the Apple Health toggle to ‘on’ within the Strove app. Once this connection has been established, your data will automatically sync through to Strove after completing your next activity using Apple Health.
Detailed Steps for Apple Health Connection:
Open the Strove app on your iPhone.
Tap on the Settings tab located at the top right of the home screen.
Select Connected Apps from the menu.
Tap the Link button to allow Strove to access your activity data.
When prompted, select Turn On All or toggle individual data permissions to the "on" position.
Once permissions are enabled, your accounts will be linked, and activities will sync with Strove automatically.
Google Fit
Exercise activities, steps and mindful minutes can be synced from Google Fit to Strove by heading over to over to Settings from the profile icon on the bottom navigation bar > “Connected Apps” > switching the Google Fit toggle to ‘on’ from within the Strove app. Once this connection has been established, your data will automatically sync to Strove after completing your next activity using Google Fit.
Detailed Steps for Google Fit Connection:
Ensure that your smartwatch or fitness tracker is synced with Google Fit.
Open the Strove app on your Android device.
Navigate to Settings and select Connected Apps.
From here, follow the prompts to connect Strove to Google Fit, granting necessary permissions for data synchronization.
Strava
Strove has partnered with Strava, enabling compatibility with almost all fitness devices and wearables. Once your Strove account has been linked with your Strava account, all of your activities that are recorded on or synched to Strava will automatically sync with Strove. This link contains detailed information on how to connect your specific fitness device to Strava. You can also pair a Bluetooth heart-rate strap to your Strava app to enable heart rate data and earn additional Strove points.
If you do not own a fitness device, please use the Strava app itself to track your workouts directly from your phone.
Garmin
If you have not already done so, please download the Garmin Connect app on your phone and create an account.
From within the Strove app head to over to Settings from the profile icon on the bottom navigation bar > “Connected Apps” > and toggle the “Garmin” switch to the on position. Thereafter please follow the prompts to enable access to your Strove from your Garmin account.
Fitbit
Strove has built a direct integration with Fitbit, meaning that Fitbit users can connect to Strove and sync activities directly from the Fitbit app. To establish the Fitbit connection between Strove and Fitbit, head over to over to Settings from the profile icon on the bottom navigation bar -> “Connected Apps” > and switch the Fitbit toggle to ‘on’ within the Strove app. Once this connection has been established, your data will automatically sync to the Strove app after completing your next activity using Fitbit.
Troubleshooting and Non-Compatible Devices
Common Syncing Issues:
Non-Compatible Devices:
If your smartwatch brand (e.g., Hoco) does not connect directly to Apple Health or Google Fit, Strove will not be able to process the data. Check if your device supports syncing with these intermediary platforms.
Consider using a companion app (if available) to transfer data to Apple Health or Google Fit as a potential workaround.
Data Permissions: Double-check that all required permissions are enabled in Apple Health or Google Fit settings to ensure data is shared with Strove.
