Overview
Huawei devices use a unique software ecosystem that limits direct integration with some third-party fitness platforms. While Strove doesn’t yet connect directly to Huawei Health, you can still sync your steps and workouts using one of the following methods:
Health Connect – for Huawei devices that support Google Play Services.
Strava – for newer HarmonyOS devices that can connect Huawei Health to Strava.
Fitbit via Health Sync – for HarmonyOS devices where Strava integration is unavailable or unreliable.
Having either Health Connect or Fitbit installed on your Huawei device is essential for your data to be processed by Strove.
For Older Huawei Devices (with Google Play Services)
Linking Strove to Health Connect
Open the Strove app.
Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).
Select Connected Apps → Connect to Health Connect.
When prompted, grant all permissions (Allow All) so Strove can access activity, heart rate, and step data.
Once linked, Strove will automatically sync data from any app connected to Health Connect (for example, Google Fit, Samsung Health, or Zepp).
Tip: Open Health Connect → App Permissions → Strove to confirm that Strove is allowed to read all data.
For newer Huawei devices (HarmonyOS)
Huawei Health cannot share data directly with Strove, so you’ll need an intermediary app. You can choose Strava or Fitbit via Health Sync, depending on what works best for your device.
Option 1: Sync via Strava
Step 1 – Connect Huawei Health to Strava
Open the Huawei Health app.
Tap Me → Privacy Management → Data Sharing and Authorisation.
Select Strava and log in with your Strava account.
Tap Authorise, then return to Huawei Health to confirm that Strava is linked.
Step 2 – Connect Strava to Strove
Open Strove → Settings → Connected Apps.
Tap Connect to Strava.
Sign in using the same Strava account you linked to Huawei Health.
Allow Strove permission to read activity data.
Your Huawei-recorded activities will now flow to Strava and then to Strove.
Important: Your Strava profile must be set to Public for Strove to access your workouts.
Go to Strava → Settings → Privacy Controls → Activities and ensure visibility is set to Everyone.
Option 2: Sync via Fitbit and Health Sync
Step 1 – Install the Required Apps
Download and install:
Huawei Health
Health Sync (from AppGallery or APKPure)
Fitbit (via GBox or APKPure)
Strove
Step 2 – Set Up Health Sync
Open Health Sync.
Set Huawei Health as the data source.
Set Fitbit as the destination.
Confirm your Huawei Region ID and follow the prompts to complete authentication.
Ensure both Huawei Health and Fitbit show as connected inside Health Sync.
Step 3 – Link Fitbit to Strove
Open Strove → Settings → Connected Apps.
Enable the Fitbit toggle and tap Connect.
Log in to the same Fitbit account you linked in Health Sync.
Authorise Strove to read activity data.
Your steps and workouts will now sync automatically from Huawei Health → Health Sync → Fitbit → Strove.
Tips for smooth syncing
Keep all apps updated to their latest versions.
Open each app regularly as Health Sync may need to run in the foreground to complete data transfers.
Do not log out of your connected apps; this breaks data links.
Restart your device if syncing stalls or appears delayed.
Remember that manually added activities in Huawei Health won’t sync to Strove as only tracked workouts will.
If steps or activities still aren’t syncing
Verify that your data appears in the intermediary app (Strava or Fitbit).
Ensure Health Connect or Health Sync shows successful sync logs.
Check Strove → Settings → Connected Apps to confirm the toggle for your chosen app remains green.
If nothing updates after 24 hours, contact Strove Support with screenshots of your Health Sync or Strava connection screens.
