Syncing activities on an iPhone

To guide you through connecting your iPhone to Strove so your activities automatically sync via Apple Health and, if you prefer, Strava.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Strove integrates with multiple health and fitness platforms to track your activity seamlessly. For iPhone users, the best experience comes from connecting through Apple Health, which integrates directly with your iPhone’s built-in sensors and Apple Watch. If you don’t use a wearable device, you can also record and sync your workouts directly using Strava, which is perfect for tracking runs, rides, or walks with your phone’s GPS.

How to link Strove to Apple Health

  1. Open the Strove app.

  2. Tap the Settings icon at the top right of the home screen.

  3. Select Connected Apps.

  4. Tap Connect to Apple Health.

  5. Tap Turn On All (or manually toggle each data type to “On”).

  6. Confirm permissions when prompted.

Once connected, your Apple Health data, including steps, workouts, and heart rate, will sync automatically with Strove.

Ensure your activities appear in Apple Health, not just in the Fitness app. Strove can only access data that is visible in Apple Health. If your workouts only appear in the Fitness app, recheck your permissions in your wearable or connected app.

How to link Strove to Strava

If you don’t have a smartwatch or prefer to record your workouts manually, Strava is an excellent alternative.

  1. Open the Strove app.

  2. Tap the Settings icon on the top rig

  3. Select Connected Apps.

  4. Tap Connect to Strava.

  5. Sign in with the same Strava account you use on your Strava app.

  6. Authorise Strove to read your activity data.

Your activities recorded in Strava will now sync automatically with Strove.

Important: Your Strava profile must be set to Public for Strove to access your activity data. If your profile is set to Private, Strove cannot retrieve your workouts or award Strove Coins. To update this, go to Strava → Settings → Privacy Controls → Activities and ensure your activity visibility is set to Everyone.

Sync Tips

  • Strove automatically processes activities once they are uploaded to Apple Health or Strava, so no manual action is required.

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection when recording and saving activities.

  • Avoid logging out of your connected accounts, as this can pause data syncing.

  • You can confirm recent syncs in Strove → Settings → Connected Apps — the toggle should remain green when active.
