Linking and Syncing Strove with Strava

To guide you through connecting your Strava account to Strove so that your workouts automatically sync and earn you Strove Coins.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Strava is a leading social fitness app used by runners, cyclists, and multi-sport athletes. By linking Strava to Strove, you can sync your recorded activities, whether from the Strava app itself or a wearable device paired with Strava, and be rewarded for your effort.

Strava acts as your workout recorder, and Strove uses that data to award you Strove Coins based on duration, heart rate, and intensity.

How to Link Strava to Strove

  1. Open the Strove app.

  2. Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).

  3. Select Connected Apps.

  4. Tap Connect to Strava.

  5. Sign in to the same Strava account you use in your Strava app.

  6. Authorise Strove to read your activity data.

Once linked, your Strava-recorded activities will sync automatically with Strove.

Important Notes

  • Manually added activities in Strava will not sync to Strove. Only activities recorded through the Strava app or imported from compatible wearables are eligible.

  • Steps are not tracked or synced through Strava as only workout-based activities (running, cycling, swimming, etc.) are supported.

  • Private Strava profiles cannot share data with Strove. Ensure your profile and activity privacy settings are set to Public in Strava:
Go to Strava → Settings → Privacy Controls → Activities → Everyone.

  • You may occasionally need to open Strava to trigger a background sync.

  • Sync delays of up to an hour can occur, depending on Strava’s processing time and network conditions.

How Your Activities Sync

  • When you record an activity in Strava, it is automatically shared with Strove once uploaded.

  • Strove processes your activity, calculates your effort level, and awards Strove Coins accordingly.

  • Each activity typically appears in Strove within a few minutes of upload, provided both apps are connected and permissions are active.

Troubleshooting Strava Syncing

If your Strava activities aren’t showing in Strove, try these steps:

  1. Check that Strove is authorised in Strava:

    • Open Strava → Settings → Connected Apps → Strove and confirm permissions are enabled.

  2. Confirm your profile visibility:

    • Activities set to Private or Followers Only cannot be accessed by Strove.

  3. Refresh the connection:

    • In Strove → Settings → Connected Apps, toggle Strava off and back on.

    • Sign in again to reauthorise the link

  4. Open Strava manually:

    • Launch the Strava app to ensure your most recent activity has uploaded successfully.

  5. Check your internet connection to ensure data can sync across both apps.

If syncing issues persist, contact Strove Support with a screenshot of your connected apps list and details of the missing activity.

Best Practices for Reliable Syncing

  • Keep both Strava and Strove updated to their latest versions.

  • Ensure you’re logged into the same Strava account on both apps.

  • Use a stable internet connection when recording and uploading activities.

  • Avoid manually editing Strava activities, as small edits can sometimes prevent syncing.

  • For optimal accuracy, make sure your wearable device is properly paired with Strava before starting your workout.
