Overview
Garmin devices are known for their advanced fitness and performance tracking, including heart rate, GPS routes, and step data. By linking your Garmin account to Strove, your workouts recorded on your Garmin wearable will sync automatically to your Strove profile.
Garmin captures your movement; Strove turns that movement into rewards.
How to Link Garmin to Strove
Open the Strove app.
Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).
Select Connected Apps.
Tap Connect to Garmin.
Tap the link button and sign in using the same Garmin account linked to your Garmin Connect app.
When prompted, authorise Strove to read your activity data.
Once linked, your Garmin workouts and daily activities will automatically sync with Strove.
Important Notes
Manually entered activities in Garmin will not sync to Strove, only tracked activities from your Garmin wearable will transfer.
You may occasionally need to open the Garmin Connect app to trigger a data upload from your device.
Sync delays are normal; it may take up to an hour for your latest workout to appear in Strove.
Make sure your Garmin Connect account remains logged in and connected to the internet to ensure ongoing syncing.
How Your Activities Sync
Data flows from your Garmin device → Garmin Connect app → Strove.
Once your workout uploads to Garmin Connect, Strove retrieves and processes it automatically.
Strove then awards Strove Coins based on your activity’s duration, average heart rate, and intensity.
Syncing only applies to workouts recorded with your Garmin wearable or the Garmin Connect app. Data is typically available in Strove within a few minutes to an hour after syncing to Garmin Connect.
Troubleshooting Garmin Syncing
If your Garmin activities aren’t showing in Strove, try these steps:
Check Garmin Connect
Open Garmin Connect and confirm your latest workout or steps appear there.
If not, sync your Garmin wearable manually via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
Reauthorise the Connection
In Strove → Settings → Connected Apps, toggle Garmin off and then back on.
Log in again to your Garmin account and reauthorise Strove to access your data.
Verify Permissions
During setup, ensure all permissions (Activities, Heart Rate, Steps) are enabled.
If any permissions were skipped, reconnect Garmin and reauthorise.
Refresh Both Apps
After recording an activity, open Garmin Connect to upload your data, then open Strove and refresh the home screen (swipe down).
Update Your Apps
Ensure both Garmin Connect and Strove are updated to their latest versions.
Common Causes of Sync Delays
Your Garmin device hasn’t synced to Garmin Connect yet.
Bluetooth or Wi-Fi was disconnected when syncing your Garmin watch.
Strove temporarily paused syncing due to network conditions.
Permissions were disabled or expired (common after password changes).
If your activity doesn’t appear in Strove after 24 hours, try reconnecting Garmin or contact Strove Support with screenshots of your connected apps and recent activity list in Garmin Connect.
Why Garmin Heart Rate Data Matters
Garmin provides highly accurate heart rate readings, which Strove uses to calculate effort-based rewards. Accurate heart rate syncing ensures your Strove Coins reflect your actual workout intensity and duration.
