Updated over a week ago

How to Link Oura to Strove

  1. Open the Strove app.

  2. Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).

  3. Select Connected Apps.

  4. Tap Connect to Oura.

  5. Tap the link button and sign in using the same Oura account linked to your Oura app.

  6. Authorise Strove to read your activity and heart rate data.

Once connected, your Oura activity data will sync automatically to Strove.

Important Notes

  • Only automatically recorded activities (e.g., walking, running, workouts detected by Oura) are eligible for syncing.

  • Manually logged activities in the Oura app will not sync to Strove.

  • Oura’s focus is primarily on recovery and light activity as heavy training sessions tracked through other apps (e.g., Strava, Garmin) are better sources for higher coin earnings.

  • You may need to open the Oura app occasionally to ensure your data uploads to the Oura cloud before syncing to Strove.

  • Sync delays of up to an hour may occur as data passes from Oura’s servers to Strove.

How Your Activities Sync

  • Data flows from your Oura Ring → Oura App → Oura Cloud → Strove.

  • Once your data uploads, Strove automatically retrieves movement and activity records.

  • Strove converts your effort into Strove Coins based on metrics such as duration, intensity, and heart rate.

Only activity data up to 7 days old will appear in Strove. Older sessions are not processed.

Troubleshooting Oura Syncing

If your Oura data isn’t appearing in Strove, try the following:

  1. Check Oura App Sync

    • Open the Oura app and confirm your recent activity is visible.

    • If not, wait for your ring to upload data (indicated by the small sync icon).

  2. Reconnect Oura in Strove

    • In Strove → Settings → Connected Apps, toggle Oura off and on.

    • Log back in to your Oura account and reauthorise permissions.

  3. Verify Permissions

    • Ensure Oura has granted Strove access to activity, heart rate, and sleep data.

    • Missing permissions can prevent syncing entirely.

  4. Check Internet and App Versions

    • Confirm your phone is connected to the internet and both apps are up to date.

  5. Restart Your Device

    • A quick restart can refresh background services and reinitiate syncing.

If your data still doesn’t appear after 24 hours, contact Strove Support with your Oura account email and a screenshot of your latest activities.

Why Oura Heart Rate Data Matters

Oura’s continuous heart rate and HRV tracking allow Strove to better evaluate your overall wellness patterns. Accurate heart rate data ensures fair and personalised Strove Coin rewards based on actual effort, not estimated activity levels.

Quick Tips for Reliable Syncing

  • Keep your Oura Ring charged and worn consistently.

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone for syncing to the Oura app.

  • Avoid logging out of your Oura account.

  • Open the Oura app once daily to ensure all new data uploads.

  • Reconnect your Oura account in Strove if you’ve recently changed your Oura password or permissions.
