Overview
Suunto devices are built for endurance athletes and adventurers, offering reliable tracking for heart rate, distance, elevation, and GPS-based activity data. When you connect your Suunto account to Strove, your workouts from the Suunto app or wearable will sync automatically, allowing you to collect rewards for your activity. Suunto measures your performance. Strove transforms that effort into rewards.
How to Link Suunto to Strove
Open the Strove app.
Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).
Select Connected Apps.
Tap Connect to Suunto.
Tap the link button and sign in with the same Suunto account you use in your Suunto app.
Authorise Strove to access your activity data.
Once linked, your Suunto-tracked workouts and activities will automatically sync with Strove.
Important Notes
Manually added activities in the Suunto app will not sync to Strove as only activities recorded using your Suunto device will transfer.
You may occasionally need to open the Suunto app to initiate syncing from your watch to the cloud.
Sync delays of up to an hour may occur, depending on your device’s upload time and Suunto’s processing speed.
Make sure you remain signed in to your Suunto account on your mobile device for syncing to continue in the background.
How Your Activities Sync
Data flows from your Suunto watch → Suunto app → Strove.
Once your activity uploads to the Suunto app, Strove retrieves it automatically.
Strove then analyses your activity’s duration, heart rate, and intensity to calculate your Strove Coins.
Only activities recorded within the last 7 days will sync. Older sessions may not appear in Strove.
Troubleshooting Suunto Syncing
If your Suunto workouts aren’t showing in Strove, follow these steps:
Check Suunto App Sync
Open the Suunto app and confirm your most recent activity appears there.
If not, sync your watch manually by opening the app and waiting for the upload to complete.
Reconnect Suunto in Strove
In Strove → Settings → Connected Apps, toggle Suunto off and back on.
Sign in again and reauthorise permissions for Strove to access your data.
Check Internet Connectivity
Make sure your phone has a stable internet connection so data can transfer from Suunto’s servers to Strove.
Verify Permissions
When reconnecting, ensure permissions for activity, distance, and heart rate are all enabled.
Update Apps
Ensure both Suunto and Strove apps are updated to the latest versions from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Common Causes of Missing Data
The Suunto watch hasn’t synced to the Suunto app yet.
Your Suunto app session was edited manually (which prevents Strove from importing it).
Suunto’s cloud sync is delayed or incomplete.
Permissions expired after a Suunto account password change.
If your activity hasn’t appeared in Strove after 24 hours, contact Strove Support with your Suunto account email and a screenshot of your recent activity list.
Why Heart Rate Syncing Matters
Suunto devices capture high-quality heart rate data, which allows Strove to calculate your effort-based rewards more accurately. Make sure your device’s optical heart rate sensor or chest strap is properly connected during workouts to get the most out of your Strove Coins.
Quick Tips for Reliable Syncing
Keep your Suunto device and app regularly synced.
Maintain a stable Bluetooth and internet connection when uploading workouts.
Avoid logging out of your Suunto or Strove accounts.
Open your Suunto app at least once daily to ensure data uploads successfully.
Reconnect Suunto in Strove if you recently changed your Suunto account password or settings.
