Linking and Syncing Strove with Samsung Health

To help users connect Samsung Health with Strove through Health Connect, ensuring that workouts, steps, and heart rate data sync correctly between your Samsung device and the Strove app.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Samsung Health is one of the most popular fitness apps for Android users and integrates seamlessly with Health Connect, Google’s health data-sharing platform.

By connecting both apps to Strove, your activity data (including workouts, steps, calories, and heart rate) will automatically sync and be converted into Strove Coins.

Note: Strove does not connect directly to Samsung Health. Instead, all activity data flows from Samsung Health → Health Connect → Strove.

What You’ll Need

Before linking, make sure all three apps are installed on your phone:

  • Strove (from Google Play Store or AppGallery)

  • Samsung Health (preinstalled or from Galaxy Store)

  • Health Connect (from Google Play Store)

All three must remain installed and up to date for syncing to work properly.

How to Link Samsung Health to Strove

  1. Open the Strove app.

  2. Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).

  3. Select Connected Apps.

  4. Tap Connect to Samsung Health.

  5. When prompted, tap the link button and allow Strove to access your activity data.

  6. Toggle Allow All to “On.”

Your Samsung Health account is now linked with Strove through Health Connect.

How to Link Samsung Health to Health Connect

  1. Open the Strove app again and go to Settings → Connected Apps.

  2. Tap Health Connect → App Permissions → Samsung Health.

  3. Toggle Allow All to “On.”

Once these permissions are granted, Samsung Health will share your activity data with Health Connect, and Strove will automatically receive that data.

You can also manage this directly in the Health Connect app under App Permissions → Samsung Health and App Permissions → Strove.

Important Notes

  • Manually entered activities in Samsung Health will not sync to Strove as only tracked activities recorded by your device or connected wearables will transfer.

  • Syncing between apps may take a few minutes after recording your activity.

  • To trigger a refresh, open Samsung Health, wait a few seconds, and then reopen Strove to sync recent data.

  • If you uninstall Health Connect, syncing between Samsung Health and Strove will stop.

Troubleshooting Samsung Health Syncing

If your workouts or steps aren’t showing in Strove:

  1. Check permissions in Health Connect:

    • Open Health Connect → App Permissions → Samsung Health and ensure all permissions are toggled on.

    • Then open Health Connect → App Permissions → Strove and confirm Strove is allowed to read activity data.

  2. Refresh your connection:

    • In Strove → Settings → Connected Apps, toggle the Samsung Health connection off and back on.

    • Reconfirm permissions when prompted.

  3. Open Samsung Health manually:

    • Sometimes Samsung Health requires a quick launch to push recent activity to Health Connect.

  4. Restart your device if syncing delays persist. This resets background sync processes.

  5. Avoid logging out of Samsung Health or Strove, as doing so can temporarily disable the data-sharing link.

If you’re using a Galaxy Watch, make sure your watch is syncing properly with Samsung Health before expecting your activities to appear in Strove.

Why This Integration Matters

Samsung Health provides high-quality fitness tracking and heart rate monitoring. By linking through Health Connect, Strove can accurately calculate effort-based Strove Coins, ensuring your rewards reflect your true activity and intensity levels.

Quick Tips for Smooth Syncing

  • Keep Strove, Samsung Health, and Health Connect updated to their latest versions.

  • Allow all background permissions and battery optimisations for these apps.

  • Use a stable internet connection when recording and syncing activities.

Open Samsung Health periodically to trigger background data uploads.
