Overview
Google Fit is one of the most popular health and activity tracking platforms for Android users.
When linked with Strove, it allows your workouts and step data to sync automatically, rewarding you with Strove Coins for your activity.
Since Google Fit now integrates with Health Connect, both apps must be installed and properly connected to Strove for syncing to function smoothly.
In short: Google Fit records your activity → Health Connect shares it → Strove rewards you.
What You’ll Need
Before starting, make sure the following apps are installed on your device and updated to their latest versions:
Strove (from the Google Play Store)
Google Fit
Health Connect
All three must remain installed and active for ongoing syncing.
How to Link Google Fit to Strove
Open the Strove app.
Tap the Settings icon (top-right of the home screen).
Select Connected Apps.
Tap Connect to Google Fit.
Tap the link button and sign in using the same Google account linked to your Google Fit app.
When prompted, tap Allow All to grant Strove permission to access your activity and fitness data.
Once linked, your workouts and steps will begin syncing automatically from Google Fit to Strove.
How to Link Google Fit to Health Connect
Open the Strove app → Settings → Connected Apps.
Tap Health Connect.
Select App Permissions → Fit.
Tap Set Up.
Toggle Allow All to “On.”
You can also manage these settings directly from the Health Connect app under
App Permissions → Strove.
This connection ensures Google Fit shares your activity data with Strove via Health Connect.
How Your Activities Sync
Initial Sync: Your most recent day’s activity should appear in Strove within about one hour after connecting.
Ongoing Syncs: Data will sync automatically at intervals as long as all apps remain connected and permissions stay active.
Third-Party Apps: If you use apps like Huawei Health or Samsung Health, you’ll need the Health Sync app to bridge data into Google Fit for Strove to access it.
Strove can only sync activity data recorded up to 7 days prior. Older data won’t appear.
Important Notes
Manually added activities in Google Fit will not sync to Strove. Only automatically tracked or recorded workouts are supported.
You may occasionally need to open Google Fit to trigger background syncing.
Some delay (up to 24 hours) between recording and syncing is normal.
Always confirm that Health Connect remains installed as removing it will interrupt data sharing.
Troubleshooting Syncing Issues
If your activities or steps aren’t appearing in Strove, follow these steps:
1. Check Permissions
Open Google Fit → Profile → Settings → Connected Apps → Strove and ensure permissions are toggled on.
In Health Connect → App Permissions, confirm both Google Fit and Strove are set to Allow All.
2. Reconnect Your Accounts
In Strove → Settings → Connected Apps, toggle Google Fit off and back on again.
Reconfirm your Google account and permissions.
3. Check Health Sync (if used)
If you’re using a third-party app like Huawei Health:
Make sure Health Sync is installed and configured to send data to Google Fit.
Open Health Sync to confirm your connection status shows “Active.”
4. Update or Reinstall Apps
Outdated versions of Google Fit or Health Connect may cause sync failures.
Check for updates in the Play Store or reinstall the affected app.
5. Restart Your Device
A simple restart can reset background processes and reinitiate syncing.
Troubleshooting Health Connect Issues
If Health Connect displays permission warnings or fails to sync:
Open the Health Connect app manually and review any notifications about missing permissions.
Confirm that Strove, Google Fit, and any other connected apps have full access.
If the app icon isn’t visible, open Google Play Store → Health Connect → Open to access it directly.
Never uninstall Health Connect — it’s essential for Strove to receive data.
Quick Tips for Smooth Syncing
Keep Strove, Google Fit, and Health Connect updated.
Open each app occasionally to maintain background permissions.
Ensure you’re logged into the same Google account across all connected apps.
Maintain a stable internet connection when recording or syncing workouts.
