How syncing works on iPhone
The data flow looks like this:
Apple Watch or third-party app → Fitness app → Apple Health → Strove
Strove can only access activities that are stored inside the Apple Health app and recorded by a valid data source. If you see your activity in the Fitness app but not in Apple Health, Strove cannot access it.
Important: historical data
When you enable Apple Health permissions for Strove:
Strove can only access data from 7 days prior to permission is granted.
Past activities may not sync.
Activities recorded more than 7 days prior to permissions were enabled may not be available.
If you recently connected Apple Health and older activities are missing, this is expected behaviour.
Step 1: Confirm the activity is in Apple Health (not just Fitness)
This is the most important step.
Many users check the Fitness app, but Strove reads from Apple Health. To check, follow the steps below:
Open the Apple Health app.
Tap Browse.
Select:
• Activity → Workouts
• Activity → StepsTap Show All Data.
Select the specific entry.
Now check the data source. There are 2 scenarios when viewing the detailed entry:
If the entry shows your Apple Watch or a third-party app as the source, it is valid.
If the entry shows the Apple Health logo as the source, it means the activity was manually added.
Manually added entries do not sync to Strove. Even if the workout appears in your history, Strove will not process manual entries.
If your activity appears in Fitness but not in Apple Health
This means the data has not yet been written into Apple Health.
Common causes:
Apple Watch syncing delay
Bluetooth interruption
iPhone and Watch not fully syncing
Third-party app does not have permission to write to Apple Health
Next steps:
Ensure your Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone.
Open Apple Health and allow it to refresh.
Confirm the third-party app has permission to write data:
Apple Health → Profile → Apps → Select the app → Enable all write permissions.Restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch if necessary.
If the activity still does not appear in Apple Health, the issue lies between your device or fitness app and Apple Health.
Step 2: Confirm Strove has permission
Open the Apple Health app.
Tap your profile icon (top right).
Tap Apps.
Select Strove.
Ensure all relevant data types are enabled.
Once done, open Strove and pull down on the Dashboard to refresh. If the activity appears, syncing is restored.
Common causes for Apple Health syncing issues
Apple Watch delay
Workouts may appear in the Fitness app before they are fully written to Apple Health. This delay is controlled by Apple’s system.
Manual entries
If the entry shows the Apple Health logo as the source, it was manually added and will not sync.
Third-party app permissions
An app may display activity in Fitness but not have permission to write into Apple Health.
Permissions enabled after recording
Activities recorded before permissions were enabled may not sync.
Edited activities
Manually edited workouts may not sync.
Syncing limits to be aware of
Before contacting Support, confirm:
The activity appears inside Apple Health.
The entry does has not been manually altered.
The activity was completed within the last 7 days.
Permissions were enabled at the time of recording.
Leaderboards may take up to 24 hours to update.
When to contact Strove Support
Please contact Support if:
The activity appears in Apple Health
It shows a valid source (Apple Watch or third-party app)
It was completed within the last 7 days
Permissions are enabled
You refreshed Strove, waited the 15 minutes and it still does not appear
Include in the request:
A screenshot of the activity details in Apple Health (showing the data source)
A screenshot of Apple Health permissions for Strove
If the workout is visible in Fitness but not in Apple Health after a reasonable time, Support can assist in reviewing the case.
When it is not a Strove issue
If the activity does not appear in Apple Health, Strove cannot access it. If the entry shows the Apple Health logo as the source, it was manually added and will not sync. Strove reads what Apple Health stores and verifies.
