What's required
To earn points for manually added activities, the activity must include:
Duration (how long you exercised, in minutes)
Activity type (e.g., Running, Cycling, Strength Training, Yoga)
These two fields are essential for Strove to record and award points for your activity.
How Strove calculates points
Logging directly in Strove:
When you manually log an activity in Strove's in-app tracker, Strove records the duration, activity type, and GPS data (if you enable location permissions). These factors are used to calculate and award you points.
Syncing from fitness apps:
When you connect a fitness app or wearable device (like Apple Health, Google Fit, Samsung Health, Garmin, Strava, Fitbit, or others), Strove syncs your recorded activities. The points awarded are based on the data your device captured—typically duration, activity type, and heart rate or intensity metrics. Strove uses whatever data is available from your connected app to calculate points.
Troubleshooting
If your manual activity didn't earn points:
Confirm duration and activity type are recorded. These are required for points to be awarded.
Make sure the activity was logged (either directly in Strove or synced from a connected fitness app).
Verify that Strove and the app you're using are connected and syncing correctly.
If using Strove's in-app tracker, ensure location permissions are enabled so GPS can be captured.
Tips for accurate activity logging
Log duration and activity type as accurately as possible. These form the basis of your point calculation.
Enable location permissions in Strove — this ensures GPS is captured during your workouts when using the in-app tracker.
Keep your connected fitness apps up to date — this ensures reliable syncing and accurate point calculation from external devices.
