Differences between Strove Coins and Leaderboard Points

Clarifying how Strove coins (used for redeeming rewards) differ from leaderboard points (used to rank performance within challenges).

How you earn Points

You earn points by completing wellness activities; either within Strove (like workouts or meditations) or through connected fitness apps.

For fitness-related activities, points are calculated based on several factors:

  • Duration of the activity

  • Your age

  • Average heart rate

  • Active intensity (derived from your resting and maximum heart rate)

Because these factors are personalised, two users performing the same activity might earn different points.

Earning Strove Coins (Redeemable Points)

Strove coins are what you use to redeem rewards. You earn them based on your highest-scoring activity per day and not the sum of all your activities.

Example:

If you complete a 5 km run worth 35 points and also log 10,000 steps worth 15 points, only the 35-point run will count towards your Strove coins for that day.

This ensures that one meaningful activity per day contributes to your reward progress.

Earning Leaderboard Points

Leaderboard points reflect all your activities throughout the day.

Using the same example:

  • The 5 km run (35 points)

  • The 10,000 steps (15 points)

These combine for a total of 50 leaderboard points for that day.

This way, your Strove coins represent your top effort, while your leaderboard points showcase your overall daily activity.

In summary

  • Strove coins: Only your highest activity per day counts, and they can be used for rewards.

  • Leaderboard points: All activities count toward your challenge ranking.

Both systems encourage consistent movement while fairly recognising your best efforts.
