Strove Coins and leaderboard points: what’s the difference?

Understand how Coins for rewards differ from leaderboard points and your Strove Score.

Coins are for spending. Leaderboard points are for rankings.

Eligible activities earn points. Each point also adds 1 Coin to your balance, until you’ve earned 200 Coins that week.

Strove Coins

  • Spend Coins on rewards in the app.

  • Earn up to 200 Coins per week.

  • The earning limit resets every Monday.

  • Unspent Coins carry over from previous weeks.

Leaderboard points

  • Points contribute to your ranking on points-based leaderboards.

  • You can keep earning points after reaching the weekly Coin limit.

  • Spending Coins does not reduce your leaderboard points.

  • Your leaderboard total reflects the selected period and eligible activities.

Not every leaderboard measures points. Some use steps, distance or mindful minutes. Challenges also have their own activity requirements.

A simple example

You earn 250 points from eligible activities in one week:

  • You receive 200 Coins, because that is the weekly earning limit.

  • All 250 points can count towards a points-based leaderboard, provided the activities meet its rules.

Your Coin balance may also include Coins saved from earlier weeks, minus any you’ve spent. That’s why it can differ from your leaderboard total.

Is either total my Strove Score?

No. Your Strove Score is a separate number out of 100 that determines your reward tier. It is not your points total or Coin balance.
