Overview
Strove doesn’t connect directly to the Volkano Active app. Instead, your data syncs through your phone’s health data system before reaching Strove:
On iPhone, through Apple Health
On Android, through Health Connect
Your activity data must appear in the respective health app first — Strove can only read what Apple Health or Health Connect records.
For iPhone Users (via Apple Health)
Requirements
Volkano Active app installed and set up
Apple Health app (pre-installed on all iPhones)
Strove app installed and logged in
Steps to Connect
Set up Volkano Active
Open the Volkano Active app and complete registration.
Go to the Settings tab (bottom right).
Tap Connect to Apple Health.
Tap Turn On All → Allow to enable data sharing.
Connect Strove to Apple Health
Open Strove → Settings (top right) → Connected Apps.
Tap Apple Health → Connect.
Tap Turn On All → Allow to grant Strove access to your activity data.
Once connected, your steps and workouts recorded in Volkano Active will sync to Apple Health and then appear in Strove.
Important Note: Apple Health vs Fitness App
Apple’s Fitness app and Health app are separate systems. Strove only reads from Apple Health. Even if you see your workout in the Fitness app, it may not sync to Strove unless it also appears in Apple Health.
To confirm:
Open Apple Health → Show All Data → Workouts
Make sure your Volkano activities appear there
If they only appear in Fitness and not in Health, Strove won’t be able to sync them.
For Android Users (via Health Connect)
Requirements
Volkano Active app installed and synced with your watch
Health Connect is installed and updated
Strove app installed and logged in
A stable internet connection
Steps to Connect
Set up Volkano Active
Open the Volkano Active app and complete registration.
Go to the Settings tab (bottom right) and select Third-Party apps.
Tap Health Connect.
Toggle Sync with Health Connect to On.
Tap Turn On and grant all required permissions by toggling Allow All.
Connect Health Connect to Strove
Open Strove → Settings → Connected Apps.
Tap Health Connect → Connect.
Toggle Allow All to grant Strove permission to read your data.
Verify Sync
Open Health Connect and check that your activity data (steps, heart rate, workouts) from Volkano Active appears there.
Refresh Strove by pulling down on the home screen until you see the spinning arrow.
Once connected, your Volkano Active data will flow through Health Connect into Strove.
Troubleshooting Summary
If your activity data doesn’t appear in Strove:
Make sure your Volkano Active data appears in Apple Health or Health Connect first.
Confirm that Strove has permission to read data in those apps.
Check your internet connection and refresh both apps.
If data still doesn’t sync, toggle the connection off and on again, as syncs can take a few hours to complete.
Preventative Tips
Keep Volkano Active, Health Connect or Apple Health, and Strove updated.
Avoid logging out or force-closing apps before data syncs are complete.
Check permissions after updates or phone restarts.
Refresh Strove regularly to ensure activities continue to sync.
